Description of Software
ProTools is a commonly used Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Moreover, it’s an industry standard in music recording, so learning the basics of the software will give you a major leg up if you ever choose to record your own music or find yourself as a studio musician for a musical production. ProTools is more than just music software; it’s a mixing console, an editing tool, and a great DAW for mastering your final mix. In essence, you can use ProTools to record, edit, and master your music.
Note: ProTools First is free software that we recommend for the entire Setnor School of Music community. ProTools 12 will be licensed to those whose musical endeavors require the pro version.
